This workshop is dedicated to the subsurface specific geospatial data, especially the data that falls into the geodata produced and / or collected by public institutions category. The workshop’s motivation lies in the necessity to initiate a national discussion on the existence, availability and accessibility of such datasets. Moreover, the workshop will present and debate on the legal, economic and social initiatives, at European and international level supporting and promoting the distribution of public data via web in a reusable format, at a marginal cost. During the session, we will address the following sub-themes:

(1) quality and relevance of open geodata,

(2) different angles of open sub-urban geodata understanding: public sector, private sector and academia,

(3) legislation matters – the impact of INSPIRE Directive to open sub-urban geodata movement, geodata licenses and interoperability

(4) Technical issues on releasing public sub-urban geodata as open data: platforms, formats, tools development.
